PRODUCT CARE.

General Care:
Keep your gear in pristine condition by regularly brushing off any accumulated dirt, sand, or debris with a soft brush or sponge and cold water. Avoid hot water and detergents, as they can compromise the fabric's waterproofing qualities. After cleaning, let the gear air-dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.

Cleaning:
Treat small stains or spills by gently dabbing the area with a damp cloth. For more persistent stains, a solution of warm water and pure or organic soap can be used. Apply it with a soft cloth or sponge, then rinse off any soap residue with a clean damp cloth.

Mold Removal:
If mold appears, first brush off all visible mold. Then, treat the area with diluted vinegar, followed by a hand wash using water. Ensure thorough rinsing and air-drying to prevent further mold growth. Areas cleaned from mold may need re-proofing to restore their water-resistant properties.

Re-proofing:
We recommend re-proofing your waxed canvas items annually with our Reeproofing Wax Bar.

  1. Clean and dry your canvas. Make sure the surface is free from dust or dirt.
  2. Apply directly to the fabric. Rub the wax evenly over the surface using firm pressure. Focus on seams and high-wear areas.
  3. Melt the wax in. Use a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting to help the wax absorb into the fibres.
  4. Wipe off any excess.
  5. Let it cure overnight before using your gear again.

Important Reminders:
To preserve the unique qualities of your waxed canvas gear, avoid machine washing, dry cleaning, starching, or ironing. These processes can damage the fabric and reduce its effectiveness. Proper storage is also crucial; keep your gear in a dry, airy space to prevent mold and maintain its condition.
